Patronal celebrations took place in the Alexander Nevsky chapel of the Assumption Cathedral of Makhachkalatranslated

On September 12, 2026, on the day of remembrance of the Holy Blessed Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky, patronal celebrations were held in the Alexander Nevsky chapel of the Assumption Cathedral of Makhachkala.
The evening before, an all-night vigil was held in the chapel of St. Alexander Nevsky, and on the day of the holiday itself, a Divine Liturgy was held.
With the blessing of Archbishop Varlaam of Makhachkala and Derbent, the services were led by the secretary of the Makhachkala diocese, rector of the cathedral, Priest Pavel Kalikin, co-served by the clergy of the cathedral church.
The rector of the Prince Vladimir Church in the city of Makhachkala, Priest Vladimir Filchakov, addressed the parishioners with a sermon about the feat of the holy noble prince Alexander Nevsky.
At the end of the Liturgy, a religious procession was held around the church, and at the end a prayer was offered to the holy Prince Alexander Nevsky and the statutory many years were offered.
The celebrations ended with a meal to which all parishioners of the Assumption Cathedral were invited.
