A new Regional Oncology Institute will be built in Timișoara: It will serve over 60,000 patients annuallytranslated

The West Regional Development Agency (ADR) announced the construction of a Regional Oncology Institute in Timișoara that will benefit over 60,000 oncology patients annually.

The institute will have almost 65,000 square meters and about 250 hospital beds, offering modern conditions for treating patients and carrying out medical work.

"The investment will be made in the context where, in the Western Region, more than 55,000 people live with an oncological diagnosis, and approximately 9,000 new cases of cancer are detected annually," the agency notes.

The general director of ADR West, Sorin Maxim, emphasized that the new institute is probably the most important investment made in western Romania in the last three decades.

"It will bring together complex oncology services in one place, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment, research and specialist training. It is an investment that can save lives. In cancer, early detection can make a difference, and patients must have access to the technologies and specialists that can help them discover the disease in time."
