A fragment of the relics of Saint Elisabeta (Safta) Brâncoveanu was brought to Domnița Bălaşa Church - Patriarchal Chapel in Bucharest on Monday and placed to be honored by the faithful.
The scent was given during the ceremony held on Sunday at the Văratec Monastery, where the local proclamation of the canonization of the Pious Saints Nazaria, Olimpiada and Elisabeta from Văratec took place.
The fragment was handed to father Ștefan Ababei, parish priest of Domnița Bălaşa Church and patriarchal adviser at the Patriarchal Stavropighii Sector and social centers of the Patriarchal Administration.
The gift has a special meaning for the Bucharest place of worship, since the Reverend Elisabeta Brâncoveanu founded a social-philanthropic establishment in the area of the Domnița Bălaşa Church.
The representatives of the patriarchal chapel described the bringing of the holy relics as a historical moment for the community, being "the place that the pious saint loved and took care of."
