A fragment of the wood of the Holy Cross was taken on Sunday to the "Holy Pious Parascheva and Healing Spring" Church (Union Cathedral) in Focșani by the Most Reverend Father Varnava, Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis of the Orthodox Church of Greece.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Archbishop Cyprian of Buzău and Vrancea, together with the hierarch from Greece.

His Holiness Father Ciprian recalled that the wood of the Holy Cross was also brought to the diocese nine years ago, on the occasion of the consecration of the Archbishop's Cathedral "Anălțarea Domnului" in Buzău.

The Cross and the Resurrection Metropolitan Varnava thanked for the warm welcome and explained that the defining feature of Orthodoxy is that of being the "Church of the Cross and Resurrection", emphasizing that "through the Cross joy came to everyone".

His Eminence offered a theological perspective on Jesus Christ as the "King of Glory", highlighting that he is a unique and paradoxical one who does not have an earthly army and does not compel anyone to follow him.
