In the city of Elista, the Cossacks of the Kalmyk Cossack District of the All-Great Don Army were solemnly handed over a banner with the image of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The banner was handed over to the Kalmyk Cossacks by participants in the motor rally, which was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Appearance of Christ the Savior in the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross in Elista in 1946 and ended in this city, the organizers of the anniversary celebrations told Foma magazine.

The ceremony of handing over the shrine in the city Victory Park was attended by Cossacks of the Kalmyk Cossack District of the All-Great Don Army, representatives of government and security forces, the clergy of the Elista diocese led by Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia, social activists and honored guests.

Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Pyotr Leontyevich Leontyev came to greet the Cossacks and meet the sacred banner.
