Students of the educational group and parishioners of the Church of the Holy Blessed Boris and Gleb made a pilgrimage to the village of Starocherkasskayatranslated

On September 6, 2026, students from the educational group of the Church of the Holy Blessed Boris and Gleb, together with their parents, teachers and parishioners, made a pilgrimage to the village of Starocherkasskaya.
The first point of the trip was participation in the Divine Liturgy at the Resurrection Military Cathedral - the first stone church on the Don, built in 1705-1716 and located on the main square of the village. The unique six-tiered iconostasis from the mid-18th century attracted the pilgrims’ special attention.
After the service, children and adults took a walk around the outskirts of the village, stopping for a meal in a local park.
Then the pilgrims visited the courtyard of the Starocherkassk St. Ephraim Monastery, where they had a tour of the historical and architectural museum-reserve. The trip participants got acquainted with the history of the Don Cossacks and the village itself.
Such pilgrimage trips help to instill in the younger generation a love for Orthodox traditions and native history, as well as strengthen the parish community.
