Royal Days in the Canadian Diocesetranslated

July 20, 2026 · 1 min read

With the blessing of His Eminence Gabriel, Archbishop of Montreal and Canada, on the night of July 16-17, 2026, for the first time in the Church of the Smolensk Icon of the Mother of God (Jacksons Point, Ontario), the Divine Liturgy took place, that is, during the hours when the Royal Passion-Bearers and their faithful servants were awarded the crowns of martyrdom. The service was led by the rector of the parish, Archpriest Maxim Abroskin. After the dismissal of the Liturgy, Fr. The rector and the parishioners of the temple walked in a religious procession to the chapel, erected for the 100th anniversary of the murder of the Royal Passion-Bearers. Then a prayer service was served to the Holy Royal Martyrs, after which Fr. Maxim addressed those present with a sermon.

Let us remind you that on July 12, on the eve of the Tsar's Days, an exhibition dedicated to the Family of the last Russian Sovereign was opened at the temple. This exhibition was visited by Paul Gilbert, who lives in Canada, a researcher and writer, author of articles and books about the Passion-Bearer Emperor Nicholas II Alexandrovich. The guest gave a lecture to the parishioners on the topic “Myths and lies about the Royal Family.”
