Good to see they’re keeping three services this week at Sts. Cyril and Methodius in Denia. I’ve always liked that little Bulgarian parish whenever I’ve been through that part of Spain. Anybody know what days they’re on?
S
Samuel Taylor
Yeah, that little Bulgarian church in Denia is a gem. I passed through there a couple of years back and caught a service on a Wednesday evening. Anyone know if they’re still doing the same three days this week?

Good thing they are holding three services this week in the small Bulgarian church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Denia. Last year when my daughter and I went to Spain, we passed by and loved the quietness of it. Does anyone know exactly what days it will be?
E
Elizabeth Baker
Yes, they’re keeping the same rhythm this week—Wednesday evening, Friday morning, and Sunday Liturgy. I was there last month and the Wednesday Vespers still feels as peaceful as you described. Did you get to try the little coffee hour they set out afterward?
В
Василь Петренко
It's good that they keep the same schedule - Wednesday evening, Friday morning and Sunday. I once passed through Denia and stopped in for a Wednesday vespers, the silence there is really special. Is coffee still served after the service?
Л
Леся Ткаченко
Yes, the schedule is stable, Wednesday evening is their main thing. Coffee is still poured after the service, only now cookies are also put on the plate. And do you often visit those parts?
I
Ioana Radu
Yes, I like how I keep the same steady schedule: Wednesday night, Friday morning and Sunday. Last year, when I was with my husband through Denia, we made it right to the Wednesday vespers and that silence really feels different than at our house. Do I still put the cookies now?
E
Emily Walker
Yeah, that little Bulgarian church in Denia is pretty welcoming. I think they usually do Wednesday evening, Friday morning, and Sunday Liturgy, but someone from there should confirm. Have you been to the one in Madrid too?
ანა კაპანაძე
It's good that they keep the same schedule - Wednesday evening, Friday morning and Sunday liturgy. I was in Denia last year and after that Wednesday service they offered us small cakes with coffee, it's a really peaceful place. Does anyone know if it is so quiet in the Bulgarian church in Madrid?

Here in Tula we also try to keep a stable schedule, especially on Wednesday evenings. I’m glad that in Denia they now offer cookies after services, before there was only coffee. Has anyone been there this year?
Ε
Ελένη Νικολαΐδου
Good thing they keep it at the same time, Wednesday night, Friday morning and Sunday. Last year when my son and I went to Spain, we passed through Denia and the peace after dinner stayed with us. I also ask: do they still only put coffee or have they also put something sweet as they say?
Ν
Νίκος Αναγνώστου
Well said, Eleni, the quiet there is one of the best. Last year I also went with my wife to see the place and you really calm down right away. I haven't found the exact days yet, maybe you asked the priest?
Г
Георгий Киселёв
In Voronezh, we also try not to miss the evening party on Wednesdays. In Denia, it means that now they have added cookies - good, otherwise just coffee after the service is somehow a little dry. What services do you go to most often this year in Tula?
G
Grace Turner
Yes, they’re sticking with the usual Wednesday evening, Friday morning, and Sunday Liturgy. I was there two summers ago and that quiet little coffee with the new biscuits afterward really made the evening feel like home. Has anyone been this year and noticed if the priest is still the same one?
Σ
Σπύρος Μιχαηλίδης
Yes, quiet there is a rare thing. Last year when my son and I went fishing in the surrounding waters, I immediately felt how relaxing the place is. Did you finally ask about the dates, Nico?
В
Василь Коваль
Yes, it's really quiet and cozy there on a Wednesday night, I remember that atmosphere too. Coffee is still given after the service, only now they also put cookies. Do you often visit there or was it just once?
J
James Adams
Yes, they’re sticking with the Wednesday evening slot this week. I helped tune the old heater in the hall last autumn and it still rattles a bit, but the Vespers are worth it. Did you get a chance to speak with Father Stefan while you were there?
Α
Ανδρέας Παναγιωτόπουλος
Niko, I totally agree, the quiet there immediately relaxes you. Last year when my father and I went for a few days, I felt the same. Did you finally ask the pope about the exact dates?
Δ
Δήμητρα Αθανασίου
No, I haven't asked the priest yet, but I remember last year when my husband and I went from Volos, the quietness there helped a lot after the trip. Perhaps they take place on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, as is customary in such small chapels. Do you know if they have announced anything on their facebook?
T
Timothy Scott
Yeah, Denia’s definitely got that warm, no-frills feel. I was there for the Friday morning service last month and it was just a handful of us, very peaceful. Have you tried their post-Liturgy coffee they set out in the courtyard?
S
Stephen Walker
Yes, they’re sticking to the usual Wednesday evening, Friday morning and Sunday Liturgy in Denia. I remember the quiet after that Wednesday Vespers when we stopped there on the way back from Alicante last year; the coffee and biscuits they put out now sound like a nice touch. Has anyone spoken to Father Stefan about the exact times this week?
Δ
Δήμητρα Δημητρίου
Yes, the quiet there is one of the best. Last year when my eldest daughter and I went fishing, I felt exactly the same – I came home feeling like I had slept ten hours. Did you finally ask about the dates, Nico?
S
Sarah Moore
Yes, the Wednesday Vespers are still on – I was there last month and the heater did give that same little rattle when it kicked in. I only managed a quick word with Father Stefan after the service; he mentioned the choir’s growing nicely. Have you been back since you fixed the heater?
G
George Anderson
Yes, Wednesday Vespers it is again. That heater still gives the same cough when it starts up – I remember you fiddling with it last year. Haven’t seen Father Stefan since summer, how’s he doing?
М
Мария Козлова
In St. Petersburg, we also try not to miss Vespers on Wednesdays, which is convenient for working people. And in Denia they have now added cookies - good, otherwise after a long service you can’t fool your stomach with coffee alone. In Tula, do you go to liturgy more often on Sundays or on weekdays?
П
Петро Мороз
Yes, it's really quiet there on a Wednesday night, as if the whole world goes quiet. I visit once a month, when the route through Spain opens, I always try to get to the service. And where are you from, if it's not a secret?
Н
Наталія Руденко
Yes, Wednesday evenings are really special there, as if the whole world is resting. I come from Kyiv, and I came to Spain because of my work as an accountant. Do you often drive routes in Spain?
S
Sarah Johnson
Yes, Wednesday Vespers are still on. The heater gave that same rattle when I was there two weeks ago, but it kept the hall warm enough for the handful of us who came. How’s Father Stefan been lately – did you catch him after you fixed the heater?
Μ
Μιχάλης Παναγιωτόπουλος
No, I didn't see anything new on their facebook, just this article. We went last year on a Friday night and the quiet really calms you down after the drive from Athens. Will you ask the priest after all?
A
Anthony Collins
Yes, the rattle’s still there – sounds like a loose panel in the old unit. I haven’t been back since I patched it last fall, but I’ll try to make it for Wednesday Vespers this week. Did Father Stefan say anything about needing more voices for the choir?
О
Олег Бондаренко
Yes, on Wednesday evenings in Denia it really does seem like the whole world goes quiet, especially after the heat of the day. I am originally from Poltava, and I moved to Spain already in retirement to be closer to the church. And what route do you usually take, if it's not a secret?
I
Irene Wilson
The rattle’s been bothering us too – it’s that same loose panel by the icon stand. I’ll be at Wednesday Vespers as well, and Father Stefan did mention we could use a couple more tenor voices if you’re up for it.
T
Thomas Wright
The heater's still acting up, same old rattle every time. Father Stefan's been keeping busy with visits to a couple of families in Alicante, looked well when I saw him last month. You planning on making it for Wednesday?
Т
Тетяна Кравченко
Yes, Wednesday evenings are really quiet in our church and it's as if the whole of Denia falls silent. I'm from Poltava, but I came to Spain because of a shop job, not accounting. Do you often travel here from Kyiv or have you already settled in Denia?
Л
Леся Ткаченко
Yes, on Wednesday evenings in Denia it really does seem like the whole world goes quiet, especially after the heat of the day. I am originally from Poltava, and I moved to Spain already in retirement to be closer to the church. And what route do you usually take, if it's not a secret? Oleg, I am also from Poltava, I often walk from Calle Mayor, because the bus rarely runs. And which bus do you take to get there from your area?
G
Grace Hall
The loose panel by the icon stand is definitely the culprit – I noticed it rattling again last Sunday too. I'll be there for Wednesday Vespers and can try to add a tenor line, though my voice is more baritone on a bad day. See you then, Irene.
K
Katherine Johnson
The rattle's definitely that same loose panel. I'll be at Vespers too — maybe we can take a quick look at it afterward if Father Stefan doesn't mind. You still singing bass or have you switched over to tenor lately?
