Specialists from the State Tretyakov Gallery have the right to regularly check the condition of the icon of St. Andrei Rublev "Holy Trinity," which is located in the Trinity-Sergius Lavra.

This was stated in a comment by the Legal Department of the Moscow Patriarchate regarding the inspection of the state of the icon "Holy Trinity."

"According to paragraph 2.1.3. of the agreement dated July 12, 2023, No. 2023/055/30-БП, signed between the Tretyakov Gallery and the Trinity-Sergius Lavra, the Tretyakov Gallery is entitled to regularly perform a verification of the state of preservation by removing the museum item from the specialized climate showcase and moving it to a room on the territory of the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Lavra that meets the requirements specified in the annex to the agreement," the document states.

The comment notes that within this framework of the aforementioned agreement, "a planned verification of the state of preservation of the icon 'Holy Trinity' from 1422-1427 is carried out according to the established procedure."
