Yes, the icon was indeed kept in the Monastery for centuries; this is its place. It is strange that it was first taken to a museum and now is being removed again—as if it were just an exhibit rather than a sanctuary for prayer. I wonder what the clergy have to say about this; I would like to hear their words on the matter.
