Young soldiers discovered the history of Romanian heroes during the Military History Camp "Descendants of the Dorobants", held at the beginning of September at the "Ascension of the Holy Cross" Monastery in Brusturi commune, Neamț county.
The activity was organized by the 15th "High Bridge" Mechanized Brigade from Iasi. The program aims at familiarizing young soldiers with the history and traditions of the unit, the continuation of the 15th "Warriors" Infantry Regiment.
This year's edition was dedicated to the battles of 1944. The participants reached the sectors of Borta Dracului, Dealul Căprăriei, Bâtca cu Plai and Dealul Arșiței, areas related to the confrontations carried out during the "Battle of Moldavia", between April and August 1944.
The program began with a military and religious ceremony in memory of the soldiers who fell on duty during the Second World War, but also the Romanian soldiers who lost their lives in the theaters of operations in Bosnia, Afghanistan, Angola and Iraq.
