The Funeral Service of the late Archimandrite Justin to be held at Jacob’s Well on Saturday

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem has announced that the funeral of the late Archimandrite Justin will take place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at the Holy Monastery of Jacob’s Well, where he served as abbot.
The service will begin at 11:00 am, and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem invites the faithful to pray for the repose of Archimandrite Justin’s soul “in the land of the living”.
Archimandrite Justin Mamalos, a cleric of the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre, passed away on 1 October 2026 after a long illness. He dedicated many years of his life to serving the Holy Pilgrimage Site of Jacob’s Well in Neapolis (Nablus) in Samaria.
He was the renovator of the Holy Pilgrimage Site of Jacob’s Well and the founder of the Holy Church of Saint Photini the Samaritan Woman. He devoted much of his life to restoring, maintaining, and preserving the Holy Monastery, leaving behind a significant spiritual and ecclesiastical legacy.
The Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre bid him a heartfelt farewell, praying that the Lord may grant him rest “in the land of the living, in the tents of the righteous”.
May his memory be eternal!
