The Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Patriarchate of Georgia

Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Sioni, on the occasion of the Feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
On August 28th, the Orthodox Apostolic Church of Georgia celebrates one of the twelve Great Feasts of the Lord and the Theotokos, the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The feast was celebrated with particular joy at the Patriarchal Cathedral of Sioni in Tbilisi, since the cathedral is dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The festal Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia. Concelebrating with him were Bishop Dositheos (Bokveradze) of Belgium and the Netherlands, along with other clergy.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, the Catholicos-Patriarch offered his blessings to the faithful who had gathered at the cathedral for the day’s feast, and spoke about its significance.
At the end of his sermon, the Patriarch once again commemorated the late Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II, entrusting his immortal soul to the protection and intercessions of the Most Holy Theotokos.
