ARC Camps: The children of a Romanian parish in Italy discovered cultural and spiritual landmarks in Bucharesttranslated

The children of the "Saint Boniface the Martyr" Parish in Italy discovered cultural and spiritual landmarks in Bucharest during the 17th edition of the ARC Camps program.

During the visit to the Capital, from July 7-14, the participants visited some of the most important cultural and historical objectives of the city, having the opportunity to get to know the national heritage and history of Romania better.

The program included visits to the "Grigore Antipa" National Museum of Natural History, the Arc de Triumf Museum, the Mogoșoaia Palace and the Cotroceni Palace. At the same time, the children went behind the scenes of Romanian Television, where they watched how a news journal is made.

The children participated in the Holy Liturgy at the Patriarchal Cathedral, on which occasion they also worshiped the relics of Saint Demetrius the New, the Protector of Bucharest.

In addition to cultural and spiritual activities, the participants took part in sports and educational programs, carried out throughout the duration of the camp.

The parish representatives thanked the Department for Romanians Everywhere and all those involved in the organization of the project, emphasizing that such initiatives...

It's great that the children from Italy saw Antipa, the Arcul de Triumf and the moashte of St. Dimitri. My daughter was in a similar group two years ago and still remembers that feeling in the cathedral. It's a good thing when history, faith and a bit of sport come together like this.

It's nice that the children from Italy also went to the Mogoșoaia Palace and the Cathedral of St. Dimitri. My nephew was in a similar camp three years ago and still talks about that day when he saw how the news is made on TVR. Thanks to the Department for Romanians Abroad for keeping this work alive.

Good thing they also went to the Kotrocheni Palace and the Antipa Museum. Last year I had seen a documentary about how they make news at TVR and I found it interesting. I'm glad they combine faith, history and a bit of football, the kids will remember it for years.

My older daughter was in such a group last year, and what stuck with her the most was how she felt around the relics of St. Dimitri during the liturgy. Yes, the feeling at the relics of St. Dimitri is really strong, my mother-in-law told me the same about it. Pavol's daughter mainly remembered the soccer tournament in the park near Mogoșoaia, where they won the last game in the last minute.
