“Holy Father Simeon, pray to God for us”: the Holy Simeon procession ends in the spiritual capital of the Uralstranslated

Participants of the St. Simeon's procession in the spiritual capital of the Urals - Verkhoturye - together with thousands of pilgrims will celebrate on September 25, 2026 the day of the transfer of the relics of St. Righteous Simeon of Verkhoturye. More than 50 pilgrims from different regions of Russia walked almost 190 kilometers from Alapaevsk to Verkhoturye to the holy righteous Simeon. Among the crusaders is the cleric of the Yekaterinburg diocese, the rector of the parish in the name of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Bolshoye Sedelnikovo, Archpriest Alexy Eliseev.

The St. Simeon religious procession started on the day of the Church New Year and the celebration of the August Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, September 14, from the Alapaevsk Church in the name of Alexander Nevsky. Before the start of the journey, the participants were blessed by Metropolitan Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy.

The prayer procession began with a visit to the Holy Trinity Cathedral - one of the iconic churches of the city, closely connected with the history of the Alapaevsk martyrs. The cathedral preserves the memory of the most important events that determined the spiritual appearance of Alapaevsk.
