The clergyman held a conversation about foul language in IUOT No. 19translated

October 26, 2026 · 1 min read

On October 25, Archpriest Leonid Mikhailovsky, assistant to the dean of the Zhlobin district for prison ministry, rector of the parish of the Church of St. Seraphim of Sarov in Zhlobin, visited IUOT No. 19 of the department of the Department of Execution of Punishments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gomel Region. The topic of the meeting was the sin of profanity.

Archpriest Leonid drew attention to the spiritual reasons for rude and obscene speech, among which he named the lack of fear of God, bad manners and the inner passions of a person.

The conversation focused on how to combat this habit. The priest recalled the importance of prayer, repentance and sobriety, and also emphasized that work on speech begins with internal control over thoughts and attitude towards others.

He also called for avoiding the habit of foul language in everyday communication and making it clear to interlocutors that rude speech is unacceptable.

In conclusion, Archpriest Leonid recalled the words of the Apostle Paul: “Let no rotten word come out of your mouth, but only good.”
