A priest of the Gomel diocese took part in the presentation of the book “Splinter of War”translated

With the blessing of His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, Archpriest Alexander Alekhnovich, rector of the parish of the Church of the Holy Venerable Nikita the Confessor in the agricultural town of Pokolyubichi, Gomel region, took part in the presentation of Viktor Marusov’s book “Splinter of War”. The meeting took place on September 23, 2026 at the Gomel Regional Universal Library named after V. I. Lenin.

The work is dedicated to the fate of Belarusian women who survived the Great Patriotic War and the difficulties of the post-war years. At the center of the story is the story of a girl who, after the death of her brother who returned from the front, became a support for her relatives. Through her fate, the author reveals themes of dedication, perseverance and responsibility for loved ones.

The presentation brought together readers, colleagues and friends of the writer, veterans and youth representatives. Viktor Marusov spoke about the concept of the work and the work on the book, to which he devoted seven years. The meeting program included songs and poems from the war years.
