Bucharest, July 17 – In many churches, a festive liturgy for the holy great martyr Marina was celebrated today. In Sofia, in the church "St. Marina" in the quarter "Krasno Selo", the returnees gathered since early morning, and after the service they distributed bread and grapes. St. Marina is especially revered by women who bear her name or have health problems. In some parts of Bulgaria and Romania, sacrifices are made today and people go to the monastery "St. Marina" near the village of Selanovtsi. According to her life, she suffered for her faith on July 17, 270. Her holiday is celebrated both by the Orthodox Church and by the Catholic church. (This is a short, concrete comment that could be left by an ordinary layman under the article.)

Thank you, Bogdan, for these concrete details. At our place in Chisinau, at the "St. Marina" church in the center, I was also early in the morning and felt the same peace after the liturgy, when warm bread was distributed. Have you been to the monastery in Selenovac this year?

No, I didn't get to Selenovăț this year, I stayed at our place in Sibiu and went to St. Parascheva in the neighborhood. Warm bread after mass is really something else, especially when it's fresh. Did you also get agheas from there?

Thanks too, Elena. At our place in Craiova, at the church in the center, the bread was really warm and reminded me of my childhood, when we used to take it to my grandmother's house. Did you also feel a special peace after communion?

At our place in Craiova, at the St. Marina church in the center, I was also early in the morning. After mass we shared bread and grapes, just as you say. Have you ever tasted the kurban they make at the Sălănoiu monastery? It's simple, but good.

Here in Cluj, at the church of Sf. Mănăstire, after the liturgy we also distributed new grapes from the vineyard. I haven't tried the Kurban from Sălănoiu yet, but if it's simple and good, I'll try it next time I'm there. Thanks for mentioning him.
