Under the blessing of His Holiness Father Metropolitan Irineu, the "Saint Gregory the Theologian" Theological Seminary in Craiova opened its doors for a new school yeartranslated

With the blessing and in the presence of His Eminence Father Dr. Irineu, Archbishop of Craiova and Metropolitan of Oltenia, on Monday, September 7, 2026, at the Orthodox Theological Seminary "Saint Gregory the Theologian" in Craiova, the opening ceremony of the new school year 2026-2027 took place.

The students, parents and teaching staff of the theological education institution had in their midst the Most Reverend Father Metropolitan Dr. Irineu. His Eminence was accompanied by Fr. Dr. Adrian Lupu, advisor of the Education Sector of the Archdiocese of Craiova, Fr. Cătălin Țărus, ecclesiarch of the "Saint Dumitru" Metropolitan Cathedral in Craiova, prof. drd. Carmen Oprea, specialized school inspector, as well as principal inspector Georgiana Mitruți, representative of the Dolj County Police Inspectorate.

The celebration began with the performance of the Te Deum service, through which prayers of thanks and blessing were raised for the students and teachers of the Seminary, at the beginning of a new educational path.
