Students musicians and art historians celebrated the day of the patron saint at the Magadan Cathedraltranslated

Students and teachers of the Magadan College of Arts visited the Holy Trinity Cathedral as part of the annual celebration of the Day of the Chorister and Regent - on the Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God and the Day of Remembrance of St. Roman the Sweet Singer, celebrated on October 14.

After the prayer service to the saint, a tour of the cathedral was organized for the guests, during which they became acquainted with the history and interior decoration of the church, the diocesan website reports.

A separate part of the program was a visit to the cathedral belfry. Students and teachers were able to learn about the features of bell ringing, its significance in the liturgical life of the Church, and ring the bells. The meeting ended in the office of the youth affairs department with a joint tea party and communication in an informal setting.

The organization of the meeting has become a good tradition of cooperation between the Magadan diocese and the College of Arts; such cooperation allows future musicians to become better acquainted with Orthodox musical culture and the centuries-old traditions of church art.
