Students of Belgorod State University bowed to the site of the appearance of Christ the Savior in Elistatranslated

On November 7, 2026, a group of students from Belgorod State University - members of the Byzantine Tree student club - visited Elista and worshiped the place of the appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ. The guys were accompanied by Nikolai Bolgov, professor of the Department of World History, and head of the club. According to the head of the club, students try to travel to different regions of Russia at least once a semester to get acquainted with memorable historical places. Many trips are of a pilgrimage nature. This time the trip allowed the participants to get acquainted with the Elista miracle. “We found out about this literally shortly before the trip, when we started packing and came across material about the miracle. We are very glad that we were able not only to see, but also to touch this miracle,” said the head of the club. At the end of the meeting, the secretary of the Elista diocese, Archpriest Alexey Grishchenko, on behalf of Archbishop Justinian of Elista and Kalmykia, donated the icon “The Appearance of the Lord Jesus Christ to those praying in Elista” to the “Byzantine Tree” student club.
