Pravoslávny kalendár, 1. júl Svätý Leontius z Rădăuți Narodil sa v Rădăuți v Moldavsku v štrnástom storočí.

Keď prijal kláštornú tonzúru, dostal meno Laurence. Časom bol uznaný za hodného svätého kňaza a založil kláštor neďaleko Rădăuți, ktorý sa neskôr stal známym ako kláštor svätého Vavrinca. Medzi jeho mnohými učeníkmi bol svätý Daniel Hesychast (18. decembra).

Pre svoj svätý život dostal od Boha milosť robiť zázraky. Jeho modlitbami sa uzdravilo veľa chorých a on sa stal všetkým otcom, učiteľom a ochrancom.

Princ Alexander Dobrý odporučil, aby sa stal biskupom v Rădăuți. Svätý Leontius viedol svoje stádo s múdrosťou po mnoho rokov, potom odišiel žiť sám do púšte. Dostal Veľkú schému s menom Leontius a čoskoro potom odišiel k Pánovi. Jeho sväté relikvie sa našli neporušené a pri jeho hrobe sa uzdravilo veľa ľudí.

Svätý Leontius bol oslávený Rumunskou pravoslávnou cirkvou v roku 1992.
