Pravoslavný kalendář, 1. července Svatý Leontius z Rădăuți Narodil se v Rădăuți, Moldavsko ve čtrnáctém století.

Když přijal klášterní tonzuru, dostal jméno Laurence. Časem byl shledán hodným svěcení ke svatému knězi a založil klášter poblíž Rădăuți, který se později stal známým jako klášter svatého Vavřince. Mezi jeho mnoha učedníky byl svatý Daniel Hesychast (18. prosince).

Pro svůj svatý život obdržel od Boha milost činit zázraky. Jeho modlitbami bylo uzdraveno mnoho nemocných a on se stal otcem, učitelem a ochráncem všech.

Princ Alexander Dobrý doporučil, aby byl jmenován biskupem v Rădăuți. Svatý Leontius vedl své stádo s moudrostí po mnoho let, pak odešel do ústraní, aby žil sám v poušti. Obdržel Velké schéma se jménem Leontius a brzy poté odešel k Pánu. Jeho svaté ostatky byly nalezeny neporušené a u jeho hrobu bylo uzdraveno mnoho lidí.

Svatý Leontius byl oslaven rumunskou pravoslavnou církví v roce 1992.

I remember our parish's St. Laurence's Monastery brochure mentioning how the name stuck even after he became Bishop Leontius—makes me think how saints' names become woven into the very places they loved, just like our own St. Mary's in Lawrenceville.
