Spanish Ambassador to Greece meets Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno in Crete

Metropolitan Prodromos of Rethymno and Avlopotamos welcomed the Spanish Ambassador to Greece, Jorge Domecq, to the headquarters of the Holy Metropolis in Rethymno, Crete, on Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2026.

During their meeting, the Metropolitan and the Ambassador held an extensive discussion on matters concerning the Orthodox faith and tradition.

Ambassador Domecq was also given a tour of the Metropolitan headquarters and received commemorative gifts marking the 160th anniversary of the Holocaust of Arkadi Monastery, as well as publications highlighting the sacred pilgrimage sites of Crete.

Metropolitan Prodromos thanked the Spanish Ambassador for his visit and their constructive discussion.

He also invited Ambassador Domecq to return to Rethymno when his official commitments permit, so that he may become better acquainted with the historic monasteries, churches and religious heritage of the local Orthodox Church.
