The First Liturgy and simultaneously the first Orthodox divine service in this city was presided over by the parish priest of the Icon of the Most Holy Mother of God, Evergetida, in Manila, Hieromonk John (Gondoya), reports the website of the Philippine-Vietnamese Eparchy.

Local residents and foreigners living in the city and its surroundings attended the divine service.

"We hope that this will become the beginning of forming a new community in the north of the largest island of the Philippines," Father John said after the service.

After the Liturgy, vehicles were consecrated, followed by a joint meal, during which participants of the divine service had the opportunity to discuss with the priest on relevant topics.
