Hieromartyr Peter Ievlev was born in 1876. He received his education at the Yekaterinburg City School. Pyotr Ivanovich was married to Elizaveta Evgenievna, who before her marriage was a teacher at a girls’ gymnasium. The Ievlev family had five children. In 1896, Peter Ivanovich was ordained to the rank of deacon. Father Peter was distinguished by his ability for economic activities, so in October 1901 he was invited to take the position of housekeeper at the Yekaterinburg Diocesan Women's School. This school was considered the largest and most comfortable in the Ekaterinburg diocese. It was opened in 1837 at the Novo-Tikhvin Convent, and in 1880 the monastery transferred it to the diocese, and it became the Trans-Ural Diocesan Women's School with a six-year course of study. This educational institution was often visited by distinguished guests who came to Yekaterinburg, and representatives of the reigning House of Romanov also visited it.

The fact that Father Peter Ievlev was appointed to a responsible position in such an important institution for the city speaks of his extraordinary abilities and the trust of the diocesan authorities in him.

It is interesting that Father Peter was not only a deacon, but also a good business executive - he was immediately appointed as a housekeeper at such a large school. He and Mother Elizabeth had five children, and he also took this position in 1901. Apparently he was a thorough man.
