Incidents at children's funeralstranslated

November 2, 2026 · 1 min read

Before the funeral service they write to you: child. You understand that this will be a very difficult service.

And so I once again tune in to all these feelings that I will have to experience with my parents. I go into the church and... I don’t understand something. Silence. You can't hear your screaming mother. I come through people. And then this very bright man comes up to me: “Father, I’m her mother.” I whispered to her: “Tell me, why is the attitude so atypical?” And my mother told me how her daughter died. This story amazed me.

Priest Nikolai Bogatov, rector of the Trinity Church in the village of Oktyabrsky, told us about what it’s like to perform a funeral service for children and support their parents. Lyubertsy.
