The Synod of the Metropolitanate of Muntenia and Dobrudja convened in Bucharest: The agenda primarily includes liturgical matterstranslated

The Synod of the Metropolitanate of Muntenia and Dobrudja convened on Tuesday at the Patriarchal Residence, presided over by the Metropolitan Daniel.

The retired Bishop Timotei Prahoveanu, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, was present and confirmed that the conditions for convening the meeting were met.

A number of issues are on the agenda, primarily liturgical matters but also administrative ones. Thus, the hierarchs will approve the text of the Hymn to the Holy Virgin Martyr Evlogia of Samurcăștei (December 19) and that of the Liturgy of the Holy Military Martyrs (October 26).

The Metropolitan Daniel reminded that a tomos for proclaiming these saints is also being prepared at the request of the military clergy. "We have composed the liturgy, and now it is time to finalize the icon of the Sobor of the Holy Military Martyrs," he revealed.

Further announcements will be made on the eve of the commemoration day of these saints, who will benefit from a special liturgical program.
