Schoolchildren took a lesson “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture” in the oldest church in the city of Artemtranslated

Prikhody.ru 10.27.2026. As part of a program to explore the sights of the Artemovsky urban district, students from school No. 16 in the city of Artem (Primorsky Territory) visited the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the village of Uglovoye.

The excursion, organized for students along with accompanying teachers, brought together 26 people, reports the website of the Vladivostok diocese. Children and teachers got acquainted with the history and architecture of one of the oldest parishes in the district, and asked the clergyman questions that they have while studying the program in the subject “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture.”

During the meeting, they talked about the internal structure of the church, its shrines and the significance of church art. Schoolchildren were able not only to gain new knowledge about the history of their native land, but also to touch the living church tradition, as well as hear about the spiritual heritage of the region.
