On the eve of the opening of the branch of the Brotherhood of Orthodox Pathfinders, its future participants from the Kasimov diocese of the Ryazan Metropolis made their first hiking trip to the shore of the Oka. Under the spiritual guidance of priest Nikolai Pronin, this day became for the children not just a walk in the fresh air, but a real practical lesson in survival and teamwork.

The hike program turned out to be rich and exciting. In particular, a training session for young travelers was conducted by Natalya Vladimirovna Rubtsova, an experienced tourism instructor, who introduced the children to the key rules of conduct in the forest and the basics of safety. The guys mastered the theory and practice of starting a fire and, having gathered around a friendly fire, fried sausages, talked and happily sang songs with a guitar, according to the diocese’s public page on the social network VKontakte.

The children returned home filled with vivid impressions, new knowledge and good mood. In the future, the guys will study together the history of Christianity, evangelical events, the main dogmas of the Church and the basics of Orthodox doctrine.
