"Saint Macrina endured all life's trials with steadfastness and peace of mind," said Sunday the Most Reverend Father Ignatius, Bishop of Husi, at the re-consecration of the "Saint Ilie" Church in Husi, Vaslui county.

The Bishop of Hușiler presented the main milestones from the spiritual biography of Saint Pious Macrina, commemorated together with the other members of the family of Saint Basil the Great on July 19.

The hierarch showed that Saint Macrina received a deeply Christian education, feeding on the Holy Scriptures and prayer, and this formation was reflected in her entire life.

"We often limit ourselves to a form of theoretical adherence to the Christian life, without taking it to the level of our personal lives and showing that we are Christians by our actions and not only by our words."

"We can talk very nicely about the Christian life and what it means to be Christ's and to love the Lord, but these must also be seen in our lives - our actions should speak more than what we try to put into words", emphasized His Eminence.

Saint Macrina really lived what she learned from the Scriptures, she didn't just speak beautifully about it. I remembered how the bishop said that actions must speak louder than our words - that's what we lack today. Thank you for this word, Father Ignatius.

Saint Macrina did just that - she lived the Scripture every day, not just read it. And that phrase about actions that must speak louder than words stuck in my head. Petro, what do you think, what concrete deed do we lack the most in our parishes today?
