St. Mc. Andrei Stratilat, Timotei, Agapie and Theclatranslated

Orthodox calendar, August 19 St. Mc. Andrei Stratilat Saint Martyr Andrei Stratilat was a soldier during the reign of Emperor Maximian (285-305). During a war against the Persians, which took place in the year 305, Saint Andrew prayed to our Lord Jesus Christ to help him in that battle and thus defeated the enemies.
He asked General Antiochus for permission to launch this attack. After the battle, the soldiers immediately understood that they had won only through Andrei's prayers.
General Antiochus also then learned, although he did not expect, that he was a Christian and tried to get him to renounce the Christian faith to serve the gods, but to no avail.
Saint Andrew was imprisoned and released, and after this moment he went to Tarsus of Cilicia to Bishop Peter of the city to baptize himself and the 2,593 soldiers with whom he defeated the enemies, since none were baptized.
Antiochus' subjects followed their tracks and killed them there. Their holy relics were buried in a Christian manner by the bishop and the clergy of the community.
