St. Joachim and Ana, model for families, says PS Timotei Prahoveanul. The hierarch consecrated the iconostasis of the Marțisor Parishtranslated

The Most Reverend Father Timotei Prahoveanul, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, spoke on Tuesday, at the Bucharest parish of Marțișor, about the model of patience, trust and love of God offered by the Holy Fathers Ioachim and Ana, the physical parents of the Mother of God.

Like Job, neither St. and Righteous Joachim "did not dare to say a word against God, because both one, and the other, and other righteous people truly loved God," said His Eminence. "Thus may be defined their waiting, their patience, and trusting that God will look upon them."

Unlike today's families, who do not have babies or refuse the gift of life, the Holy Fathers according to the body of the Mother of God "received the greatest gift" for their patience and prayer.

St. Joachim and Anna show us that patience and prayer do bear fruit, even if it comes late. I remembered what PS Timotei said, that they did not grumble against God, like Job. Today many families choose the opposite, and they received the greatest gift - the Mother of God.

Yes, I also liked how PS Timothy related their patience to Job, without a word against God. We in the choir often sing the "Enlivened Church" and only now do I see how deeply it fits with this holy family. In our garden, waiting for the fruits in the fall, I think that their patience is a good model for families today.
