Services commemorating World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel “sign of hope and resilience”

In connection with the start of the World Council of Churches (WCC) World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel, the Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center with the General Secretariat of Christian Educational Institutions organized three services in Bethlehem, Ramallah, and Jerusalem with over 1,300 students. The services were hosted by church leaders in each city.

Under a theme from Psalms 127:3, “ Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,” the special week will focus on protecting children. Running 20-26 September, the week includes the UN International Day of Peace on 21 September.
The services held 15 September were organized by, among other religious leaders, Mrs Sawsan Bitar, head of clergy affairs at Sabeel.
