Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić visits Transfiguration Monastery in southern Serbia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić visited the Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Kozji Dol as part of his visit to the Pčinja District. The monastery is a dependency of the Monastery of Saint Prohor of Pčinja.
The Serbian President was welcomed by Metropolitan Pahomije of Vranje, together with Nun Ksenija, who oversees the monastery, and clergy from the Trgovište area.
Following a visit to the monastery church, President Vučić and Metropolitan Pahomije held talks on issues concerning the life and continued presence of the population in southern Serbia. Particular attention was given to the situation and living conditions of the Serbian population in the areas of Preševo and Bujanovac.
The discussion also focused on the historic Monastery of Saint Prohor of Pčinja and its importance to the spiritual life of the Vranje region.
Vučić and Metropolitan Pahomije discussed the preservation of the monastery’s rich spiritual, historical and cultural heritage, as well as plans for the restoration of the Vranje residence within the monastery complex.
