Serbian Patriarch of Serbia to visit Australia and New Zealand in October

Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia will visit Australia and New Zealand from October 8 to 19, 2026, accompanied by a delegation of bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church, the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand announced.
The Metropolitanate welcomed the forthcoming visit “with great spiritual joy and gratitude to God,” describing the presence of the Serbian Patriarch on the Fifth Continent as a significant occasion for Orthodox Serbs living far from their homeland.
“This blessed arrival of His Holiness the Patriarch is a great gift and joy for all of us who live far from our homeland, but carry in our hearts our Orthodox faith, the tradition of Saint Sava, and the prayerful heritage of our holy ancestors,” the announcement said.
The Metropolitanate invited the faithful throughout Australia and New Zealand to gather around Patriarch Porfirije in prayer and unity during his visit and to express their devotion to the Church.
It stressed that the Patriarch’s visit would provide an opportunity to strengthen unity among the faithful and deepen their bonds with the Serbian Orthodox Church.
“May this blessed encounter be an opportunity for us to bind ourselves even more…
