“Family is a word in which there is comfort”: the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity was celebrated in Trinity Sungurtranslated

July 10, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 8, on the day of remembrance of the holy saints Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia, a festive concert “Family is a word in which comfort” took place in the village of Trinity Sungur.

The rector of the church in the name of the Holy Trinity in the village of Trinity Sungur, Archpriest Andrey Korshunov, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He congratulated the residents on the day of remembrance of the holy faithful Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia, recalling that their life is an example of marital fidelity, patience and love carried through all trials. The priest wished each family peace, strength of spirit and God's help, and the newlyweds and parents - wisdom in raising children.

The program included congratulations to married couples celebrating marriage anniversaries, as well as newlyweds and parents who had children this year. The anniversary spouses were presented with memorable gifts and flowers.

The holiday ended with a traditional stroller parade. Parents prepared strollers for their children, decorated in different themed styles.

It's good that Peter and Fevronia got it right - they really are an example of how to get along. A stroller parade sounds like fun, especially if one is decorated like a soccer field. Father Andrei always speaks simply and to the point, well done.

It’s good that Father Andrei reminded about Peter and Fevronia - it is their patience and loyalty that families especially need now. We also had a parade of strollers a couple of years ago, my daughter then decorated hers in the form of a flower bed, we still remember it. Who received the gifts this time, I wonder?

His little ones and their tvetami, they were ullybalis. Interesting, what topic did you think about this?

Good that they honored Petros and Fevronia, they are indeed an example of patience that every family needs. Father Andreas spoke as always straight, without many words. The stroller parade reminded me of our own parade last year in the village, one mom had made it like a small football field and we all laughed.

Father Andrej reminded us of Peter and Fevronia and of that patience through trials, which is what is most needed today. The cart parade is the most interesting to me - once someone made a cart like a small bakery with dough and an oven, the whole square laughed. What were the topics this time in Sungur?

They have started well with Peter and Fevronia, their trials and patience are really for any house. The trolley parade sounds the funnest to me - I imagine someone made a trolley like a fishing boat with fishing rods. I wonder what themes they came up with this year in Sungur.

Father Andrés always hits the nail on the head with the terpenie thing, yes. Last year in our parade the most liked was a quilt with Bible motifs that the López family made, with felt animals. Did you go this year or did you just read the article?

It's nice that father Andrey still spoke simply, precisely about the patience and trials of Peter and Fevronia - this really strengthens every house. The parade with strollers is my favorite part, we imagine how one was decorated like a small kitchen with pots and spoons, as if cooking for the whole village. Who won this year, anyone?

Father Andreas spoke, as always, about the patience and suffering of Petros and Fevronia. I liked the pushcart parade the most; I remembered last year in our village that a dad had made his as a small fishing rod boat. Which ornaments did they win this year?

Yeah, Father Andrey nailed it mentioning patience and trials — that’s what keeps a marriage going when the kids are screaming and the bills pile up. Our parade last year had a little “soccer pitch” pram with tiny goals and a ball, my youngest thought it was brilliant. What themes won this time, did you hear?

I agree, Petre, exactly Peter and Fevronia are the most accurate example for us - especially for patience in difficult times at home. The parade was really the funnest part, one cart was made to look like a little house with flowers and a fabric roof and another like a soccer ball. What would you do for your daughter if you were there?

Yes, Father Andrés always insists on the terpenie because he knows that it is what we need most at home. Last year I couldn't go, but they told me about that López family quilt; my oldest granddaughter still asks us to make her something similar out of felt. This year, which float did you like the most?
