The film is dedicated to little-known heroic pages of Russian history - the defense of the Spaso-Preobrazhensky Solovetsky Monastery from the English squadron in 1854, during the Crimean War.

Good to see they're finally making a film about this. My grandfather used to tell us how the monks held off the British guns with just a few old cannons back in '54. Hope they show the part where the cannonball landed in the church but didn't explode.

It’s interesting that they started filming the film right now. My grandfather also told about this incident - how a cannonball flew into the church and did not explode, the monks then kept it as a shrine. It would be nice if the film showed this truthfully, without unnecessary fiction.

Yes, at least once the film properly shows that ball that fell inside the church and did not explode, as their grandparents used to say. I heard the same story from an old man in the monastery when we went hiking on the Solovki Islands. I hope they don't add Hollywood fiction.

I was really happy with this news. My grandfather from Montenegro also told that story about the cannon ball that flew into the church and did not explode, so the monks kept it as a relic. I hope they film it as it happened, without the Hollywood fabrications.

My father also recalled this story with the cannonball; he also said that it fell into the altar and lay there as if it had been placed there. It would be good if the film showed it without embellishment, as your grandfather told it. Have you been to Solovki yourself?

Yes, I also heard from my grandfather about that cannonball - it lies on the altar, as if it had been carefully placed, not a scratch around. It’s good if the film shows it exactly like that, without unnecessary beauties. Have you ever been to Solovki yourself, Alexey?
