Family starts in Istratranslated

July 5, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 4, on the eve of the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, annual family starts were held in Istra, organized by the parish of the Myronositsky Church in Istra and the Union of Large Families “All Together” with the support of the Arena-Istra sports complex.

At the grand opening of the competition, the acting dean of the Istrinsky district, priest Pavel Malkin addressed the participants with a congratulatory word, read a prayer to the patrons of the marriage of St. book Peter and Fevronia and sprinkled everyone with holy water.

The chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Large Families, Nadezhda Demkina, and the head of the Association, Elizaveta Makeeva, also gave welcoming speeches.

More than twenty families took part in the family competitions, which were divided into two large teams “Suvorovites” and “Ushakovites”; they competed for the team challenge cup and the family cup, which is awarded for personal family achievements. Children and parents went through several stages where it was necessary to demonstrate unity, dexterity and sportsmanship.

All families received a special medal with the image of St. Peter and Fevronia, certificates and excellent gifts.

The parish of the church organized a tea party with pies and sweets for the competition participants.

It's good that so many families gathered and children ran together with their parents. I especially liked that Father Pavel Malkin read the prayer to Peter and Fevronia and sprinkled everyone with holy water at the very beginning. А пирожки после спортивний — this is always correct, without them.

It's good that there were more than 20 families and they divided them into "Suvorovts" and "Ushakovts", that's how team spirit is created. I liked that Father Pavel Malkin read the prayer for Peter and Fevronia right at the opening and sprinkled them with aghesas. And tea with pies after the run sounds just right, otherwise such an event does not end.

It's good that over twenty families gathered and right at the beginning Father Pavel Malkin read a prayer to Peter and Fevronia and sprinkled everyone with holy water. Those medals with their picture on them are a nice idea. And after running, tea with cakes from the church - that's exactly what should be at the end of such a day.

It’s good that more than twenty families gathered and divided into “Suvorovites” and “Ushakovites” - there was a team spirit right away. Father Pavel Malkin began correctly with a prayer to Peter and Fevronia and sprinkling, without this such starts would not start. And the medals with their image and the pies afterwards are just the thing that the children remember for a long time.

Good thing there were more than 20 families and they divided them into "Suvorovts" and "Ushakovts". I liked that Father Pavel Malkin started with the prayer for Peter and Fevronia and sprinkled them with agheas – that's right. And the pie tea after the run was just the thing, the kids left happy.
