On October 7, the first meeting of the Ulyanovsk Public Chamber of the V convocation was held in the Ulyanovsk City Duma. With the blessing of Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, the secretary of the Simbirsk diocesan administration, Priest Roman Solodko, took part in the meeting.

The meeting was opened by the head of the city of Ulyanovsk, Alexander Boldakin. He noted that the Public Chamber is a reliable assistant in matters of effective city management and a link between the authorities and residents:

— Our meetings are held in a weekly format. At them we discuss issues of landscaping, repairs of urban infrastructure and other relevant topics. I am grateful to you for your great work on the patriotic education of our youth. I believe that joint work with the new composition of the Public Chamber will continue to be built on the principles of trust, mutual respect and in the interests of our residents. We are open to new initiatives and are aimed at constructive cooperation.

Acting Chairman of the Ulyanovsk City Duma Igor Kryuchkov and Deputy Chairman of the Regional Public Chamber Ramil Abitov also addressed the meeting participants with welcoming words.…
