Today, July 3, the Church remembers the holy martyrs Inna, Pinna and Rimmatranslated

The Holy Martyrs of the first centuries of Christianity Inna, Pinna and Rimma (+ I-II centuries) are remembered on July 3 by the Orthodox Church.

Not much is known about these saints. According to one version, they were Slavs from Northern Scythia by origin, according to another - Goths or Tauro-Scythians.

According to Tradition, Inna, Pinna and Rimma were disciples of the holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called. Like the apostle, they preached about Jesus Christ and converted many barbarians to the faith.

For their preaching, the saints were captured by one of the barbarian princes, who tried to force them to renounce Christ with various temptations. When Inna, Pinna and Rimma refused to do this, the prince first gave them over to be beaten and then to execution.

In winter, the saints were tied to large logs inserted into the ice. Then these logs began to be gradually immersed in icy water along with the tied martyrs. When the icy water reached the necks of the saints, they, exhausted by the cold and cold, went to the Lord.

An ancient Slavic source says that Christians buried the bodies of the holy martyrs, but then Bishop Gedz took them out of the grave and transferred them to his church.
