Today, October 15, the Church honors the memory of the righteous warrior Theodore Ushakovtranslated

The memory of the outstanding Russian naval commander, admiral, righteous warrior Theodore Ushakov (+ 1817) is celebrated by the Orthodox Church on October 15.
With his victories, Fedor Ushakov gave Russia an entire sea, displacing from its borders the Turkish fleet, which previously completely owned the Black Sea and its coast.
In his entire life, Fedor Ushakov did not lose a single battle, and during these battles he did not lose a single ship. During each battle, he strove to ensure that losses in the ship's crews were as small as possible. And even to his enemies he was generous and merciful.
Already in retirement, Fedor Fedorovich spent almost all of his fortune on creating hospitals for the wounded and helping his neighbors who suffered from the devastation of the enemy.
Fyodor Ushakov was a man of deep and active faith. Among other things, it was he who contributed to the creation of the Novo-Tikhvin Convent in Yekaterinburg.
In 2004, Fyodor Ushakov was canonized by the Russian Orthodox Church as a righteous warrior.
