It is 145 years since the birth of George Enescu, considered the most important Romanian musician, who loved music, but also God.
George Enescu was born on August 19, 1881, in Liveni, Botoșani county. George Enescu was the eighth child of Costache Enescu and Maria Enescu, the only one who survived, his other siblings dying at a young age.
At the age of three, impressed by a taraf he had heard playing in a spa resort near his native village, little Jurjac tried to imitate the instruments: the violin with a "thread of sewing thread on a piece of wood" ("Amintirile lui G. Enescu", by B. Gavoty), the tambourine with the help of wooden sticks, and the snare drum, blowing between the lips.
At the age of three, he started playing the piano and a year later, the violin, first guided by his father, then, by ear, with Niculae Chiorul, a famous violinist from Dorohoi. At the age of five, he composed his first work, "Romania, opera for violin and piano".
