The writer Zaharia Stancu was honored on Monday, on World Education Day, in Teleorman county. On the occasion of the 124th anniversary of his birth, the "Marin Preda" County Library organized an exhibition.
This brought together anniversary volumes, volumes signed by the author, translations of his works into foreign languages, as well as works of criticism and literary history.
"Born on October 5, 1902, in our county, in the commune of Salcia, the great writer managed to put Teleorman on the universal map of literature. Through his masterpieces, he gave voice to the sufferings and dignity of the Romanian peasant", said the president of the Teleorman County Council, in a post on the Facebook page.
