Summer School at Feredeni: The theme of the activities was inspired by the recently canonized holy womentranslated

The holy women recently canonized by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church were the theme of the activities dedicated to children at the Feredeni Summer School, organized by the Parish "Adormirea Maicii Domnului" from the town of Iași.

Approximately 50 participants took part between August 1-9 in catechetical, educational and cultural workshops, held on the occasion of the Tribute Year of Christian Family Pastorate and the Commemorative Year of the Holy Women of the calendar.

During the Catechesis Workshop, the children discovered the lives of women who confessed their faith through sacrifice, courage and dedication. Among them were St. Mavra from Ceahlău, St. Blandina from Iasi, St. Olympia from Văratec and St. Elisabeta (Safta) Brâncoveanu.

The theme was continued at the Painting Workshop, where the children made icons on glass representing the canonized saints, originally from Moldova.

At the same time, the events were completed by the Local History Workshop, which highlighted the contribution of women to the history of the community, emphasizing their role in preserving the family and community heritage of the village of Feredeni.
