October 14, 2026 · 1 min read

Thousands of believers participated on Wednesday in the feast of Saint Pious Parascheva in Iași. On this occasion, Metropolitan Teofan of Moldova and Bucovina highlighted the participation of pilgrims "who want to follow in the footsteps of the saints, to be inspired by their lives, to receive help from God through their prayers".

This year, along with the relics of Saint Pious Parascheva, the relics of Saint Paisie from Sihăstria were placed for worship.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by a council of 28 Romanian and foreign hierarchs, including Metropolitan Dimitrie of France and Exarch of Europe (Ecumenical Patriarchate) and Gheorghe of Kitros, Katerini and Platamonas (Orthodox Church of Greece), as well as Bishop Qais of Erzurum (Patriarchy of Antioch) and Vicar Bishop Iacov de Stobi of the Metropolitanate of Strumica (Orthodox Church of Macedonia) from the North).

The service was performed at the outdoor altar set up on Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard in Iasi.
