Saint Sofian of Antim was celebrated on Wednesday in the town of Manta in the Diocese of South Bessarabia.
Saint Confessor Blandina was enshrined alongside the pious saint, whose relics were brought from the Archdiocese of Iași on the occasion of the feast of Saint Hierarch Dionysius, Bishop of Citadel Albe-Ismail, protector of the diocese and Cahul Cathedral.
The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Bishop Veniamin of South Bessarabia and Vicar Bishop Nichifor Botoșaneanul of the Archdiocese of Iași in the Parish "Saints Archangels Michael and Gabriel and Saint Pious Confessor Sofian from Antim" in the locality.
Two saints, one confession The Reverend Father Nichifor Botoșanean highlighted the connection between the two saints, emphasizing their testimony of faith and their proximity to the Romanian and Bessarabian space.
