The gospel with the king's wedding always puzzles me, especially the part about the guest without a wedding garment. I will read Matthew 22:1-14 tonight after the shift. Thanks for the readings.

That's the place in Matthew 22 that always takes my breath away - when the king says they are going to bind the man without his wedding garment and throw him outside. Just recently, I baked cakes for a celebration and thought that it is important in life to come prepared, not just any way. That part about the guy without the wedding garment always gets me too, Sofija. Last time I read it I kept thinking about how we show up at church on feast days — you can’t just roll in from the kitchen with flour still on your apron and expect it to be enough.
