Sakhalin Cossacks celebrated the Intercession of the Mother of God according to Cossack traditiontranslated

Students of the Cossack class of school No. 24 in the city of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk visited the Church of St. Innocent, Metropolitan of Moscow, on the Feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God, which traditionally in Rus' was especially revered by the Cossacks. An educational and creative program dedicated to Orthodox and Cossack traditions has been prepared for schoolchildren.

Acquaintance with the parish began with an excursion, during which the children were told about the structure of the Orthodox church, its main parts - the vestibule, the central part and the altar, as well as the rules of behavior and traditions of attending services. The schoolchildren were able to see the festive prayer service, which was performed by the head of the youth department of the South Sakhalin and Kuril diocese, the rector of the church, Archpriest Viktor Gorbach, and the staff priest, Priest Yuri Dobrenko.

As the “Parishes” portal was informed, after the completion of the prayer service, a demonstration performance by students took place on the territory of the church.
