With prayer and flowers: how the city of Dokshitsy celebrated Independence Daytranslated

Independence Day in Dokshitsy passed through the prism of deep respect for the past. The holiday began with a spiritual component - a prayer was performed in the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The dean of the Dokshitsy church district, Archpriest Leonid Strekha, the cleric of the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, Priest Pavel Iosko, and parishioners offered prayers for peace, prosperity and unity of the people, a prayer for the health of those living today and the repose of the souls of those who laid down their heads on the battlefields.
The central event was the requiem meeting with the laying of flowers “Remember, people!”, which took place at the Shunevka memorial complex. This place became a center of grief and pride.
Thousands of scarlet carnations and fresh flowers covered the marble monuments and mass graves of Soviet soldiers and partisans on I.S. Square. Field - a tribute to nameless heroes. The laying of flowers united people of different ages, confirming that the feat of their ancestors will forever remain in the hearts of their descendants.
